Home Insurance Discounts

We will be happy to provide a complete explanation of these discounts, as all discounts are subject to underwriting criteria.

New Home Discount

The following discounts may be applied to your policy if your home is:

• 0–2 years old — 20%
• 3–5 years old — 18%
• 6–8 years old — 15%
• 9–10 years old — 12%

Mature Citizen Discount

A discount of 10% may apply to any policy where the named insured or spouse is 40 years of age or over. This discount increases to 15% at age 50 and older.

Burglar Alarm Discount

A discount of 5% may apply to any location that has local burglary alarm. A 10% discount may apply to any location that has a monitored burglary alarm.

Home Security Discount

A discount of 5% may apply to any location that has dead-bolts on outside doors, smoke alarms and fire extinguishers.

Fire Alarm Discount

A discount of 5% may apply to any location that has a local audible alarm and is connected to a monitoring station.

Central Station Alarms

A discount of 15% discount may apply to any location, if the alarm is centrally monitored for both fire and burglary on a 24-hour basis, and a copy of the installation certificate is supplied.

Multi-Line Discount

A discount of 10% may apply to your property policy if you also insure your auto policy with EDvance, provided you have no more than one chargeable loss on any one policy in the past three years.

Claims Free Discount

A 15% discount may be applied to the policy where there have been no claims for the past three years.

Mortgage Free Discount

A 20% discount may be applied to all homeowners and condominium unit owners that are lien or mortgage free.

Loyalty Discount

A 5% discount may be applied to a policy which has been in force with a prior carrier for 5 years or more. Another 5% discount may be applied to a policy that is renewed with Traders for 5 years or more.

Note: There is no maximum discount allowance.
